What is TrueView AI?
TrueView AI is an AI-powered Shopify review app that helps you show trustworthy product reviews — even for products that don't have any customer reviews yet. It reads real public discussion from trusted sources like Reddit, expert review sites, and forums, and writes an AI review summary with a built-in compliance disclosure. It never invents reviews; it only summarizes information that already exists publicly.
How do I generate my first AI review?
Open any product and click Generate Review. Read the AI-generated summary and click Save & Publish. Then add the TrueView storefront widget to your theme — a one-time step. After that, every published review appears automatically on its product page.
What happens if my product has no public reviews?
Private-label and unbranded products often have no discussion under their own name. When that happens, TrueView AI summarizes what shoppers say about the product type instead — the card says so in its heading and disclaimer, and never shows a star rating. If there isn't enough discussion of the product type either, TrueView tells you rather than inventing one.
How it works & sources
Where do TrueView AI reviews come from?
From real public discussion on trusted sources such as Reddit, expert review sites, and forums. If you connect Judge.me (Growth plan), your verified customer reviews are blended into the summary too. TrueView never creates fake reviews — it only summarizes existing public information.
Can I edit an AI-generated review?
No. To keep reviews transparent and compliant, the AI summary can't be hand-edited. You can regenerate a review or unpublish it, but the original wording stays exactly as the AI produced it.
Are AI-generated product reviews compliant?
Yes. Every review includes a clear disclosure that it's an AI-generated summary based on public sources. This helps you comply with rules such as the FTC AI-disclosure guidance (2024), the EU Digital Services Act (DSA), and the UK Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers (DMCC) Act.
Widget & display
Why isn't my published review showing on my store?
The storefront widget probably isn't added to your theme yet. Go to Settings → Storefront Widget and either enable it for all product pages, or place it manually where you'd like reviews to appear. This is a one-time setup.
Does TrueView AI translate reviews automatically?
Yes. One click on Translate renders a published review in every language your Shopify store supports, and translations refresh automatically whenever the review is regenerated. Translations are included on every plan, including Free.
Plans & usage
What counts as a review generation?
Each time you click Generate or Regenerate, one generation is used from your plan — even if the result appears instantly. Publishing, unpublishing, translating, and displaying reviews on your storefront do not use additional generations.
What does the Free plan include?
The Free plan includes AI reviews for up to 5 products, 10 review generations every month, the storefront review widget, one-click bulk actions, translations, and the compliance disclosure — no credit card required. The paid plans (Starter $4.99 and Growth $14.99 per month) add more products and monthly generations; on-demand regenerate and Judge.me integration are Growth features.
What happens if I downgrade my plan?
Your current plan stays active until the end of the billing cycle. When the downgrade takes effect, your existing AI reviews are removed, and you can generate fresh ones within your new plan's limits. A scheduled downgrade can be cancelled any time before it becomes active.
Judge.me (Growth plan)
How do I connect Judge.me?
On the Growth plan, open Settings → Connect Judge.me, copy your Private API Token from Judge.me, and paste it into TrueView AI. TrueView then blends your verified customer reviews with public web research to produce richer AI review summaries.
